There is a lot of mystery surrounding locum tenens (LT). Most physicians have never worked as a locum and see no real reason to do so. However, I found working as an independent contractor (IC) helped me live a more fulfilling life, both within and outside of medicine. This is my story and the story of others who have found this way of life to be liberating, fulfilling, enjoyable, and could never imagine going back.
My goal in this blog is to help physicians navigate the muddy waters that is locum tenens. If I can help one physician realize a way to live happier, fuller life, and lead them away from the jaded practice many of us feel trapped in, I will have done my job.
